Real Business Problems. Practical Cloud & Security Solutions.
Each of the businesses we collaborate with has its own challenge – fraud prevention or infrastructure stability. These are two real life examples of how the right cloud installation can have a direct effect on revenue and reliability.
E-commerce Fraud control and stability in US based brand
Overview
One of the US based fashion E-commerce shops was expanding rapidly and with its expansion came major problems in its operations particularly in regard to fraudulent orders and unreliable hosting.
The Problem
This was a technology problem, but it was affecting profitability and brand reputation directly.
Abuse of counter-only-dollar (COD) + bot activity.
Attempts at payment fraud with regard to revenue.
Websites crash on promotions and discount sales.
Long load time (about 5-6 seconds)
Rising complaints because of checkout failures by customers.
This was a technology problem, but it was affecting profitability and brand reputation directly.
What We Did
Rather than merely upgrading hosting, we have reinvented the system on a security-first cloud basis:
The site was relocated to a special cloud setup (no problem with shared resources)
Install firewall regulations and ban the robots.
Added fraud detectors at point of sale.
Caching and CDN layer optimization.
Enhanced flow of payment with review requirements.
How It Was Implemented
We began with evaluating the traffic patterns and where the fraud was occurring.
We then had to deploy a non-down-time migrated site to a cloud server and added security and performance optimizations, one step at a time.
All of this had to be tested with simulated sale traffic prior to going live.
Outcome
Ex-post orders decreased by approximately 80 percent.
The web site load time dropped to less than 2 seconds.
None of the high-traffic campaigns had any crashes.
Higher checkout rate.
Evident customer experience enhancement.
Client Note
We were used to firefighting all the time before– bogus orders, crashes, complaints. Things have become stable now and we are able to concentrate on scaling.
Travel Website
Obtaining Bookings and avoiding Attacks.
Overview
A travel booking site that dealt with holiday packages was experiencing not only performance problems, but also spam leads, bots, and security concerns.
The Problem
This was a technology problem, but it was affecting profitability and brand reputation directly.
Huge amount of spam inquiries and spam submissions.
Bots attacking the booking forms and slowing the system.
The server is down every now and then.
Cyber threat associated with poor security controls.
Slowness of site causing loss of confidence.
It was not that the business was losing leads, but it was wasting time doing so.
What We Did
We used a cloud + cybersecurity combined strategy:
Moved the site to a secure cloud computing environment.
Installed bot defense and form-level blocking.
Added WAF (Web Application Firewall) as attack prevention.
Secure data handling and enabled hardening of SSL.
Both desktop and mobile optimized.
How It Was Implemented
We started by recognizing spam patterns and suspicious traffic patterns. Thereupon we gained entry points, particularly forms and APIs, as we moved to the upgraded hosting environment.
Security layers had been incorporated without impacting the user experience.
Outcome
Spam and bogus questions minimized (70%+ decreased)
Even at peak traffic, the website would become stable.
Increased engagement with faster load times.
Enhanced information protection and confidence.
Speaking of more true leads.
Client Note
We were receiving too many bogus tips previously. The questions are real and the site seems far more assuring and trustworthy.
